Hailey was recognized as one of the U SPORTS' 2021-2022 Academic All Canadian award winners, an honour given to student athletes who achieve exceptional academic standing!

Isaac recently won 2nd place at the Political Theory Essay Contest for his essay titled, "Is Modern Social Democracy Socialist?"



Dr. Rourke was recently recognized as NBHRF's Health Research & Innovation Changemaker for the month of February!

"Dr. Jill Rourke is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Mount Allison University, where she is dedicated to providing students with rewarding research and experiential learning experiences. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of toxicology and pharmacology, with a specific interest in identifying new therapeutics for cancer and other diseases. Dr. Rourke's innovative work has led to the development of the Centre for Toxicological and Pharmacological Discovery (CTAP), an enhanced molecular biology lab on campus that provides undergraduate students with access to industry-level equipment and valuable research opportunities. Through her leadership and mentorship, Dr. Rourke is helping to shape the next generation of scientists and researchers."

SunMin and Grace won 1st place in the oral presentation category for their research presentation at the 2023 Canadian Undergraduate Conference on Healthcare organized by Queen's University.  Leading up to the conference, their abstract was also published in the Undergraduate Research in Natural and Clinical Science and Technology (URNCST) Journal, 2023: 7(2).

SunMin recently presented her research at the Ygnite Conference organized by the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association where she won the outstanding poster award in the undergraduate category! The Ygnite conference hosts scientists of Korean heritage to celebrate the amazing advances they are making in their field and to empower future generations.

SunMin was awarded as the recipient of the People's Choice Award at the 2022 NBHRF Health Research Week! This award is given out of all posters at the conference, up to the research associate level, based on public voting. 

Madeline was chosen as one of five recipients of this year's Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada Graduate Award of Merit!

We wish Madeline nothing but the very best as she begins her medical studies at Dalhousie Medical School!

SunMin was selected as one of 11 undergraduate students by the Association of Korean-Canadian Scientists and Engineers to attend 2022 Young Generation Forum organized by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies! 

2021-2022

Hanna was chosen by her peers to deliver the valedictory address for the Class of 2022 at the Mount Allison Convocation ceremonies. After working as the summer research assistant in the lab, Hanna is now working as a research assistant in Costa Rica!

Charlie, Erin, and Hanna were all recognized for their incredible achievements and contributions to the Mount Allison and Sackville communities at the 2022 Graduating Class Last Lecture. Dr. Rourke was honoured as New Brunswick Health Research Foundation's (NBHRF) 2021 Mentor of the Year after having been named as Mentor of the Month for March 2021. Congratulations, Dr. Rourke!

Over the course of her Master's degree (2020-2022), Madeline received the New Brunswick Innovation Fund (NBIF) STEM Graduate scholarship, Robert Lewis Rice Memorial Graduate Fellowship, as well as the NSERC Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship Master’s (CGS-M). 

Madeline was a finalist for the Master's poster competition at the New Brusnwick Health Research Foundation's 2020 Health Research Week. Her abstract was also published as part of the Canadian Society of Pharmacology and Experimental annual conference in 2021. 

2018-2021

Maggie was awarded the departmental award for  Biochemistry and the Frances S. Allison & A. Jane Avard Eaton Student Leadership Awards at the 2021 Graduating Class Virtual Last Lecture. Maggie is now pursuing a Master's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with the Pulinilkunnil Research Group at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick.

Alexie was awarded the Science Atlantic Communication Award at the organization’s Biology Conference in March 2021. This award is given to the student who was best able to communicate their research to their peers. Alexie is now studying at Dalhousie Medical School.

Nick was awarded 3rd place for his poster presentation at the 11th annual New Brunswick Health Research Foundation's 2019 Health Research Week. Nick is now pursuing his Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto.
