Every year usually in August, we collaborate with Liz Campbell's School of Highland Dancing - her pupils do the dancing and we do the collecting of donations from those visitors and members of the Callander community lucky enough to witness the spectacle. We're extremely grateful to Liz to give us the opportunity to raise funds for our Charity account.
Another regular event in our fundraising programme are the two Bottle Stalls we hold in Ancaster Square during the Easter weekend and the Callander Jazz Festival weekend usually at the end of September / start of October, depending on how the days fall - this year it is October.
In addition to the bottles tombola, there is usually a Bric-a-Brac stall and a Lucky Dip for the kids. All monies raised go into our Charity account for distribution to worthy causes. Occasionally we will nominate a particular cause for the event, e.g. the May 2026 event was in aid of Start Up Stirling.
The next Bottle Stall will be held on Saturday 3rd October 2026
For as long as any of us can remember, we had always held a Coffee Morning in May each year. And then, a few years ago, one of our members who is a crafts person himself, Michael Kay, had the bright idea of turning it into a crafts fair as well and to add a second event in the run-up to Christmas. At around the same time, someone else suggested extending the morning to include lunch - consisting of home made soup and bread. So, the current iteration was created.
The May event is still dedicated to raising funds for international causes - usually Rotary International's own charity, Rotary Foundation, but sometimes to contribute to aid large-scale disaster relief operations. Funds raised from the Christmas version go to our own Charity account for distribution to worthy causes.
The next Coffee, Crafts and Lunch event will be held on Sunday 5th December 2026.
