Club History

CLUB HISTORY:

The Rotaract Club of Kaihura was formed on the 20th Day of Aug 2020 by a group of  youths all born in Kaihura with the aim to address the most pressing needs and concerns that affected the Kaihura community at the time following a Heavy rainy season characterised by Hailstones that had destroyed all the local farms and planatations leaving the community helpless. A team led by Kusemererwa William who later became the Chartered President, Dr John Muhenda, Kazooba Gonzaaga (RIP) who was key in developing club membership, Tugume Bazil, Businge Adolf, Tumusiime Don and Businge Wilson agreed to mobilize fellow youths and form a club. The Rotary Club of Kabarole Led by the then Opportunity President Dianah Kobusinge and Rtn Lillian Kemigisa took up the mentorship role and on the 31st of Mar 2021, the Rotaract Club of Kaihura was officially Chartered By RI with  Club ID number 8823480. The Club won its First award at the 97th DCA 2022 in Naivasha - THE RAISING STAR AWARD for the extra ordinary service in the year 2021/2022.

Since then, the club has grown to create more impact in  the District, It has mentored and Sponsored the Rotaract Club of Kyaka II in Kyegegwa Distric being the first to deliver a Rotaract sponsored Club  following Elevate Rotaract. The club has also mentored and sponsored three Interact Clubs, the Interact Club of Kaihura Parents SS, Interact club of Kyenjojo SS and the Interact club of Maddox SS.
