My assurance to you is your have created a true generation that treasures service above self and the future of Rotary is therefore bright.
With our mother Club doing it all, I have to make special Mentions to AGE Dianah Kobusinge Abwooli, Rotarian Lillian Kemigisa Akiiki and CMP Milton Tusingwire, at no time shall our history ever be complete without their mention, they have seen us grow from a simple social gathering to one of the most vibrant club in the district now.
Sincere appreciations also go to the District team for all their support, through trainings and many more, the DRR, ADRR Western Cluster and all other leaders at all capacities
Special thanks go to our big sister club, the rotary club of Kabarole led by CMP Ivan Sulpur, they have really supported us during our infancy and have been by our side from day one. PP Racheal was part of the first delegation that visited us for our very first mentorship.
The Staff and Management of RED Earth café led by Hon Faith Kunihira Abwooli, the woman MP Kyenjojo, who offered us a free fellowship venue.
All other Rotarians, rotaractors and well wishers who have made a special contribution to this journey, we don’t take you for granted and we are really grateful. Our dear Chief Guests and all our Guests today, I really feel pleasured that today am handing over leadership happy enough as a charter president that the foundation I have set is enough for the new leadership to base on to navigate us to even greater heights.
Like JOHN MAXWEL said ‘‘leaders become great not because of their powers but by their ability to empower others’’ I want to kindly task the new leadership to focus on empowering all members of the Rotaract club of Kaihura and this will make us even achieve more.
I had a Pleasure to present at the ROTS2022, and I remember telling the new leaders that, as Rotaractors, were should do more and speak less, People should identify us as Rotaractors by our actions, we should be ready to live and walk in the Principles of Rotary and we should be proud of our identity.
To achieve all we have achieved in only one year, it really requested us to be honest to our selves and indeed for every decision we took, we would consider the Four Way Test.
I have always told my club members that its only those who are busy who can actually deliver, therefore there is very minimal excuse for not attending Rotaract activities in the name of being busy. There is no one who fails to get time to do what he/she wants to do best. If some one tells you that is too busy to meet you, it literally means your aren’t a priority at that time. Humans will always give time to their Priorities. I therefore want to task each one of us to make service in Rotary and Rotaract as a priority. In one of my most common addresses to club members, I oftenly inform them that its only those that have that can give, no one can therefore give when he/she has nothing. This is therefore a reminder call for all of us to work harder in our areas of specialties so that we can have what to give. You can be a Rotaractor and expect to be given. People at our side are at the giving end and those in need are at the receiving end, you cant be both. You are either at our end and ready to contribute to addressing community side or you are at the other vulnerable end and waiting for our support. Lets accept reality and do right even when No oneis seeing us.
‘‘WHO SAID IT COULDN’T BE AND WHAT ACHIEVEMEBT HAS HE TO HIS CREDIT THAT ENTITTLES HIM TO USE THE WORD IMPOSSIBLE SO FREELY’’
I wish you a great day
KUSEMERERWA WILLIAMS ATWOOKI
