My Fundraising

Roshen's Chess Academy has raised the following funds (since June 2019) for the Twelve non-profit organizations listed below.

Sponsoring  differently abled kids at DAC since Jan 2021, Supporting  various science projects @ DAC               : $ 9,275

Camp4All campaign by Cascade Pacific Council, Troop 208 donations, Eagle project donations to BSA scouts, etc     :  $ 1,000

The dedicated parent volunteers from Roshen's Chess Academy have played a significant role in the success of our tournaments, which aim to raise funds for the Oregon Chess Federation, Portland Chess Club, and HECSA. With approximately 100 players and 25 parent volunteers participating in each of our events, their support has been invaluable, especially for the younger players aged 6 to 10.

In recognition of the efforts of these parent volunteers, we have established a scholarship program for their children. If these young players achieve success at the Oregon Scholastic Chess Federation (OSCF) or Chess For Success state championships, they will be eligible for this scholarship.

Total funds raised  (Since June,2019) : $57,448

I have raised these funds from my personal tournament winnings (from national and international tournaments like the 28th North American Open  where I won $7000), by teaching Chess classes and also by  running OSCF state qualifier Chess tournaments  - Roshen Sanjay Nair

Donations

If you would like to help me in my efforts to raise money for any of these Non-Profit Organizations through Roshen's Chess Academy, please fill out the following Roshen's Chess Academy Donation Pledge Form. Please don't write the checks to Roshen's Chess Academy, instead please write the checks as payable to the Non-Profit Organization of your choice from the above list.

Also for our fundraising tournaments, Roshen Nair Foundation organizes and runs these nationally (USCF) rated tournaments. As being an USCF affiliate, we also work with USCF (United States Chess Federation) to rate these nationally rated tournaments. However all our tournaments are fundraiser tournaments for various non-profit organizations and we request players to pay these non-profit organizations directly (we are not collecting any money).

Dear Roshen,

Greetings from the Academy of Magical Sciences!

Hope you are doing well. On behalf of Magic Academy I express my heartfelt gratitude towards you for the kind helping hand towards our project – Different Art Centre. For me, you are very special as the youngest sponsor to our differently abled child at the Centre.

Thank you very much for understanding our mission as our team is continuously striving to provide decent livelihood, health care and daily needs of our special community and to provide a platform for their rare artistic skills.

Once again we thank you for your kindness and sincerity you have initiated for supporting us.

Ever yours in Magic

Funds raised by Roshen's Chess Academy for PRCA (Patricia Reser Center for Arts) project undertaken by the Beaverton Arts Foundation : $1000

2021 - June:    From  Lani E. Faith (Executive Director, Beaverton Arts Foundation)

2022 - June:    From  BLANCHET HOUSE

Roshen’s genuine desire to help Blanchet House support our guests experiencing homelessness was prevalent at every stage of the process. His recognition of the importance of hygiene as a basic need provided the baseline for his project, and the thoroughness he then applied to securing the supplies and organizing kit assembly was very impressive. The kits he, and the troop, created were the epitome of an ideal hygiene care kit and included so many of the items our guests need. The follow through and interest he expressed in learning more about our mission and services when he dropped his kits off allowed him to get a more in-depth understanding of how they would be distributed. All in all, we at Blanchet House are so honored to have been the beneficiary of his work and are inspired by the commitment and passion Roshen brought to the project.

Have a great day and enjoy your weekend

With gratitude,

Gabby
