Research interests:
I am currently an ecology professor at Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), Brazil. My research has been mostly focused on community assembly processes in freshwater ecosystems, but I also started conducting projects in terrestrial ecosystems and doing ecological niche modeling (ENM) with tropical diseases in Brazil.
I am particularly interested in assessing how environmental changes (i.e. driven by natural and/or anthropogenic disturbances) affect species diversity and distribution in freshwater and terrestrial communities .
Teaching:
Undergrad courses:
Ecology (1st and 2nd semesters), Community Ecology (1st semester) and Field Ecology (2nd semester)
Grad courses:
