Women at the Well
Marsha Holmes, married for over three decades, has launched two grown children and owns a popular, local coffee shop when a friend asks her to help lead a women’s Bible study—in the county jail. Reluctantly, she agrees to attend the training, and, surprisingly, she identifies with the inmates. When her friend can’t continue, Marsha refuses to desert the prisoners. Meanwhile, at her coffee shop, cash is mysteriously disappearing. At home, her pregnant daughter and son-in-law move in. Marsha’s commitment affects prisoners, deputies, family, and friends but requires her to face old fears and resolve conflicting priorities.
The Fifth Season is the story of Maren Kepple, a recently widowed speech-language pathologist, who repurposes her professional and personal life. She encounters work challenges, romance, and the threat of a cult kidnapping her college freshman son.
Five Keys, the sequel to the Fifth Season, is set in the post 911 years, Maren, her husband, and two adopted children make their home in Dexum, Illinois. There are dangerous secrets in the little town where speech-language-pathologist, Maren works with home bound patients and meets the challenges of family life while her husband works overseas.
