Those are the versions. I believe I installed opera and 1password a few days ago. New to Opera, and mostly loving it other than 1password issue, and I posted a couple feature requests like being able to split tabs like you would split windows on a monitor, and the ability to set On Startup pages by workspace instead of only on the main workspace.

Same 3 items from description of this ticket. 1Password installs and then I have to enter password every time i open opera even if the 1Password app is already unlocked on my mac. Once unlocked it will try to suggest but clicking does nothing. And if i click the extension button i get a generic list of passwords not suggestions for the site i am on. I have had to use the 1 password app to copy paste into opera which is enough to push me back to safari. I have to use 1 password for work and have no option to use a different password manager. Otherwise i love opera!

The 1 password app is working better with your suggestions. It works perfectly in most browsers edge, chrome, safari, firefox it is kind of disappointing that Opera which has such great features blocks the connection to the 1 password app that allows it to integrate with the unlock features on the mac such as unlock with fingerprint and watch. Unfortunately entering passwords is a huge part of using the internet these days and 1password has become a popular solution for business where the users have no choice to change. Thank you all for your quick response, I hope a feature request for proper 1 password integration can make it into the queue to provide a better user experience for an app that is used by over 100k corp clients .

At this point, what users should be focusing on is running immediate updates if they are using any of the affected browsers and services. It is also a good idea to check for new operating system updates on your computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. The bottom line is if you have a pending update, run it. And enable automatic updates to keep up with new releases.

@DenalB Just curious, but may I ask if the reason to switch had anything to do with the import? (edit: I should have read your initial post opening this thread . Seems you migrating from 1password was a long time ago and yes things have definitely improved with the 1pux importer)

Passwords are as annoying as they are necessary, and a good password manager can keep you secure while making it easier to juggle the sheer number of passwords you need to be a person on the internet. Using a password manager is one of the most important things you can do to protect yourself online, aside from using two-factor authentication and keeping your operating system and web browser up to date. If any of your passwords are weak and easy to guess, if you reuse any of your passwords across multiple sites, or if the sites you use are ever hacked and your account is compromised, you risk losing access to your accounts and your data. In fact, if you reuse passwords, chances are good that your password is already out there on an easy-to-find database. You can even check to see if your email address or password has been involved in a data breach.

1Password is compatible with all the operating systems and browsers that most people use: Standalone apps for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android all allow you to view and edit all the items in your vault. 1Password also has browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Microsoft Edge that handle basic functions like autofilling passwords and creating new ones. If you use Safari on Mac, you need to download the desktop app, which includes the extension for Safari. Figuring out exactly which program to download is often confusing for newcomers and still manages to trip us up sometimes. We recommend downloading the desktop and mobile apps for your operating systems, along with the browser extensions for whatever web browsers you use.

Bitwarden supports the same operating systems and browsers as 1Password does, including Windows , macOS , iOS, and Android. Bitwarden, like 1Password, supports logging in with your face or fingerprint, whichever method your device supports. Browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Opera (like 1Password, Bitwarden packs its Safari extension into the desktop app) let you easily autofill usernames and passwords no matter which browser you use.

We dismissed most other password managers for lacking one or more features, such as not participating in third-party security audits or not supporting one or more of our desired operating systems. That list includes Ascendo DataVault Password Manager, Avast Passwords, Avira Password Manager Pro, Blur, Enpass, eWallet, F-Secure ID Protection, LogMeOnce, McAfee True Key, mSecure, Norton Password Manager, oneSafe, Password Boss, Password Safe, RememBear, Revelation, RoboForm, SaferPass Premium, SplashID Pro, Sticky Password, and Splikity.

Yes. Most password managers with iOS and Android apps can autofill usernames and passwords both on websites and in apps, replacing (or augmenting) the built-in autofill features in those operating systems. You can find directions for setting this up in 1Password on iOS and Android, as well as directions for Bitwarden on iOS and Android.

It's somewhat offtopic to this forum, but i'm also totally puzzled by almost complete ignorance of the Roboform in the apple community. As a password manager it is a very solid solution, and there are areas where it is better than 1password. Myself i've been using 1password once i switched to mac and i can see that 1password is lot more "mac-y" but still i can't understand why roboform is not mentioned at least half as much as 1password.

1Password is published by AgileBits, a company based in Ontario, Canada. It launched in 2006 as a Macintosh-only program. Over the years, AgileBits has updated the program to run on all the major operating systems, browsers, and mobile devices.

Bitwarden is simple and easy to use and set up. If you need it for your mobile, you can download it from the App Store or the Google Play Store. If you want to use it for your desktop, you need to visit the official website to download it for your browser or operating system. Once you install it, follow the on-screen instructions to choose a master password; Bitwarden will let you know how strong your password is and whether you need to change it to a stronger one. Your dashboard and the whole interface of the app are user-friendly and appealing to the eye.

In 2016, a free virtual private network (VPN) service was implemented in the browser.[70] Opera said that this would allow encrypted access to websites otherwise blocked, and provide security on public WiFi networks.[71][72] It was later determined that the browser VPN operated as a web proxy rather than a VPN, meaning that it only secured connections made by the browser and not by any other apps on the computer.[73]
