Ubuntu says that OpenShot is not installed. It clearly is, as you can see in this screenshot. I've tried a number of variants, including apt remove openshot*, OpenShot, and so on. All the info I can find says this should have worked. I'd like to remove it because it is unstable on my system.

Now that OpenShot is installed, you should be able to launch it from your Applications menu, or from the terminal ($ openshot-qt). Every time we update OpenShot, you will now be prompted to update to the newest version. It's a great way to test our latest features.

If the computer has multiple graphics cards installed, you can choose which should be used by libopenshot. Also, you can optionally use one card for decoding and the other for encoding (if both cards support acceleration). This is currently only supported on Linux, due to the device name FFmpeg expects (i.e. **/dev/dri/render128**). Contributions welcome if anyone can determine what string format to pass for Windows and Mac.

FFmpeg 4 + nVidia The manual at: _nvidia_encode works pretty well. We could compile and install a version of FFmpeg 4.1.3 on Mint 19.1 that supports the GPU on nVidia cards. A version of openshot with hardware support using these libraries could use the nVidia GPU.

Same error on a fresh ubuntu 22.04 install. I've tried with version 2.5.1 from ubuntu-jammy-universe and from openshot.developers/ppa. I don't want to install the daily version.

As a workaround, 2.6.1 Appimage version works fine.

Same error here. Ubuntu 22.04, fresh install, openshot 2.6.1 installed with apt (see log below). After installing from ppa:openshot.developers it seems to work (I haven't testing too much, but at least I can see the main window)

As piciomdf ( +source/openshot-qt/+bug/1971094/comments/6) said!

The english page is found at

The "Stable PPA" does NOT contain (at the time of writing) release files in the "jammy" folder, so we need to use the "Daily PPA" but it installed fine and some minor testing of basic usage also went fine.

If it doesn't we can at least help development of this fine project with bug reports!

@ralphwigzell I face the same problem on Kubuntu 22.04.1. The AppImage of the latest daily from September 24th (2.6.1-dev) seems to display the tracks fine, the stable 2.6.1 AppImage does not. Got that info from: -qt/issues/4865 The problem seems to be fixed more than a month ago but it's just not in the stable version yet.

I removed .cache/openshot and .local/share/openshot, in case the "legacy profile" it was referring to was some user-specific thing and I might have one around from version 2.x, but there was no change.

The official openshot PPA is back with the latest packages for all current Ubuntu releases and their derivatives, such as Linux Mint. User can now easily install the latest video editor package by following the steps below one by one.

Just found that the official openshot PPA seems not being updated for quite a period of time, when I was trying to get the latest package of this video editor today. Though, the software is still being developed.

Ok to copy command in python shell

Ok for the visualisation of "Bleu OK screen"

and no error result after open openshot by shell windows.

6) Yes, by slide/paste and by + button

If is necessary i can paste the result of test shell windows but it's long.

Thanks a lot.

I am trying to create a video that is longer than 4+ hours using openshot software on Linux and Windows 7. Both test failed miserably. In fact, the whole program completely freezes within 2 minutes of trying to export the video and then it crashes altogether. I've tried closing everything else thinking the program needs all the memory it needs to do this. Still, it didn't work.

I have been using the openshot video editing software for some time on Ubuntu 13.10, which does not run stable for me. I would like to know if I can do something to stabilize it, so I can actually use it for video editing... ff782bc1db
