Unique Handmade Instruments

Kamale ngoni, kora, variants of lyres, lutes, tubular bells etc. crafted from carefully selected natural materials: wild cherry wood, mahogany, oak, pine, bamboo, aluminium, goat / cow skin and calabashes in various sizes.

The instruments produce a distinctive, calm, and meditative sound, similar to instruments such as the hang drum or tank drum. they are tuned to a pentatonic or heptatoonic scales, allowing harmonious playing without “wrong” notes.

Playing is highly intuitive and quickly becomes almost meditative, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced musicians.

Various models of ngonis are available – from 12 to 18 strings. Koras with 23 strings, and lyres from 7 to 12 strings. Tubular bells are made by demand.
Prices range from €250 to €1300, depending on the instrument model, materials, and additional features.

Ngoni 16 string

Neck, handles and bridge made of mahogany wood, very thick goat skin and 32cm calabash. Electric guitar tuning pegs and an integrated pickup and preamp.

This one has a distinct, hollow resonance with a rich, natural reverb that lingers in the air, adding depth and dimension. Its ethereal tone makes it perfect for soaring, expressive solos that captivate the listener and fill the space with emotion.

Ngoni 18 string

Despite its small size, this calabash delivers a surprisingly powerful bass, resonating with depth and richness. Its impressive four-octave range allows for incredible versatility, making it a standout choice for dynamic and expressive performances.

Lyre / Lute, 7 string

Handles made from oak wood, Maple and Black walnut wood bridge, fallow deer skin, 30cm bamboo bowl and acoustic guitar tuning pegs.

This lyre is truly one of a kind, echoing the soulful tones of the Kenyan Nyatiti. Its low, punchy harmonics give it a warm, resonant depth, while its sturdy build makes it perfect for traveling, jamming by the campfire, and sharing music wherever the journey takes you.

Hand-crafted 12 string inspired by ancient Greek Lyre.

Handles made of oak wood, bridge made of maple, goat skin, 27cm calabash and ukulele tuning pegs.

This lyre has a uniquely damped sound, offering a rich tonal variety depending on your playing technique. You can achieve the classic, resonant voice of a traditional lyre or push it toward a punchier, banjo-like twang, making it an incredibly versatile instrument for different musical styles.
