I am a kindergarten teacher who finds great joy in learning together with young children. I believe in giving my kiddos opportunities to grow "roots" (explicit instruction of foundational skills) AND "wings" (independent exploration and discovery). My greatest hope, in sharing my blog and resources, is that you will find that same joy and balance within your own classroom.

There are very minimal expenses outside of the tuition cost. Four textbooks are required and should cost you less than $100 total. Light, incidental expenses may occur, such as occasionally attending yoga classes at studios other than Yoga Branch. Roots and Wings Teacher Training Program offers unique opportunities to learn deeply and experience a wide spectrum of Yoga practices and specialties, as well as practice teaching prior to graduation.

You will learn specialties, such as gentle yoga, yoga for kids, pre-natal yoga, chair yoga, and restorative yoga. Hands-On Participation You will observe and assist in Lisette's public classes. Safe observation, adjustments, and assists are addressed and practiced in depth during the weekend sessions.

Apprentice in Lisette's class approximately once per week for 25 weeks (see Lisette's schedule above). We will start arranging these hours with the group at our first weekend session. This is a great part of your commitment and is also scheduled flexibly. For example, you can be out-of-town for a week and make-up time another week.

With Lisette teaching 10 classes or more per week at the studio, there are plenty of opportunities to complete your apprenticing hours. Often student teachers elect to take one of the back-to-back classes taught by Lisette and apprentice the other on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Thursday.

All of our youth programs and field trip opportunities are extremely valuable experiences for the youth we serve. While each experience is unique, we weave in themes of gardening, environmental education and healthy eating in each of our hands-on interactions with agriculture and the natural world. Soil Born Farms hosts two types of field trips at the American River Ranch. Discovery Field Trips are one-time visits to the ranch that serve grades pre-kindergarten through high school. Our Exploration Field Trips invite a class of students to visit the ranch four times in a school year, allowing them to see the farm in different seasons and dive deeper into content. Upon your request, we aim to incorporate themes that are currently relevant to your classroom lessons.

Roots & Wings offers classes throughout the academic school year for home school students. Our youth education program takes students on a journey through the seasons with a series of farm- and nature-based classes. Students ages 7 to 12 (grade levels 2 through 8) engage in 8 classes per semester at the farm and along the American River Parkway where they learn valuable life skills that encourage healthy living and stewardship of the land.

Not being privy to the numbers, I have no way of knowing if the young couple who bought my tools have made the best financial choice. But what is clear is that they are very excited about putting down roots. They certainly have made the best emotional choice.

But then some 10,000 years ago something very profound changed. After 190,000 years of roaming around, we began farming. We began settling down. We began building cities. We began to go to war over territory. We began to put down roots.

The roots of faith we seek are necessarily those of the eternal principles of righteousness which govern both heaven and earth. The wings will come as we master ourselves and discipline our talents and seek to become like our Father.

If we choose not to study during a semester, then we must take the responsibility for failing those classes; we cannot blame the teacher. If we are sullen in our conversations, we must accept the responsibility for the likely result that nobody will enjoy being with us. If we waste our paycheck, the result is that we will lack the money we need for our schooling or supplies or food or clothing. If we do not read good books, we are poorer in ideas than we would have been.

"Have fun, create and work with a natural material! All woodworking secrets for beginners will be revealed in this class. We start with the basics and learn how to sand, use hammers and nails, screws and screwdrivers and how to use a drill. After finishing our wooden toy we will use our creative imagination and embellish our pieces by using a variety of materials. We are a very eco friendly class and we only use untreated, completely free of noxious chemicals wood and water based paint. The combination of woodworking and art encourages concentration, problem-solving skills, fine motor coordination and stimulates creativity. The kids experience the joy of creative expression, become creative thinkers and develop confidence. Please visit our website www.ArtClubLosAngeles.com"

The NICU Parent Resource Room and the Lynn and Bob Barclay Big Heart Family Fund both operate completely on contributions. Your donation will help weave safety nets and build strong family bonds for children and infants in the greatest need. Your generosity helps our youngest patients gain the strong roots they need to eventually grow the wings to soar.

Having equitable access to nature in Austin, TX would mean that everyone (regardless of race, class, gender, age, language, transportation, resources, etc.) would be able to enjoy the beauty of nature and truly benefit from the many things that nature has to offer.

How did and do we help women and men develop their wings? We provide information about career and education options, expanding their horizons about what they can become and the steps to get there. I am particularly proud of the work we do with middle and high school girls through our Totally Trades Conferences, including one in Presque Isle, giving them hands-on experience taught by female role models in trade and technical career fields.

In closing, I want to circle back to roots and wings. Two of my favorite stories are Miss Rumpius by Barbara Cooney and The Man Who Planted Trees by Jean Giono. Miss Rumpius, as many of you know, planted lupine seeds to create beauty in Maine and in the world. Elzeard Bouffier planted acorns which grew into trees and transformed a barren landscape in Provence.

I would ask each of you to think about what seeds you have planted that have taken root to make a positive difference in your family, your college, your community, your state. How has or can your leadership help you and others to grow and develop their wings?

The distillery is inspired by our agricultural roots and our passion to craft uniquely distilled spirits from quality products that we lovingly grow on our land. Our collection of seed-to-sip spirits includes vodka, whiskey, gin, absinthe and liqueurs that can be enjoyed on their own or in your favourite craft cocktails and mixed drinks.

Fact: Culturally relevant and anti-bias education is relevant for all children, in all grades. Children in all-white (racially segregated) classrooms are at risk for growing up without the social skills and knowledge base needed to live in a diverse country and work in a global marketplace.

1.In its fullest expression, culturally relevant and anti-bias education includes addressing the issues of discrimination against individuals in all areas, including religion, gender, economic class, age, ability, and sexual orientation. I have chosen to focus on culture and race because so few early childhood programs successfully deal with this issue. I believe that if a program can successfully incorporate multicultural values, it can incorporate the other equally important components of diversity and equity. 2351a5e196
