I started to watch ZD and it's so crack... I mean yes, zombies aren't normal stuff but it was really weird episode. And it had one of cliches I hate (female lead mistook male lead for flasher)... and she kinda annoys me, hot-tempered girl, not fan of characters like that (no matter male or female). He also didn't impress me. Should I give another try to this drama and continue to watch? If so, why?

I got asked this by Oprah Winfrey too, when Lisa and I were on her show. It was probably when Lisa and I were doing our last stand at Navy Pier in the Shakespeare Theatre. The flock of 100,000 zombie turkeys had broken the window and were coming in. I ran out of ammunition and was using my knife. I still marvel that we survived that.

I only had eyes for Lisa since I met her in high school. She kind of looks like Julia Roberts, only angry all the time. I never dated her or anything. I thought she was out of my league. Imagine how surprised I was when ten years later she proposed to me, right during the zombie turkey apocalypse.

What iZombie takes from Buffy, however, goes beyond witty dialogue. The two shows also have similar approaches to the undead. Zombies in the iZombie universe behave like vampires. They can mostly pass as human until they've gone too long without eating brains, at which point they become the zombies we know so well from Night of the Living Dead and its ilk.

This brings her into contact with a helpful police detective with the glorious name of "Clive Babinoux" (Malcolm Goodwin), who has his suspicions about Liv but is willing to go along with it because she gets results, even if it seems to take her a few false starts every episode before she manages to find the right perpetrator. (In this way, the show is like every detective show ever made.)

This is surprisingly similar to iZombie's main subplot, which involves zombie Blaine (David Anders, or as TV fans might know him, "Sark from Alias") setting up a business racket that involves turning people into zombies, then selling them the brains they need. And if those brains come with a huge markup, hey, business is business, right?

There is a Zombie epidemic on our planet. Magicians are being enlisted to test civilians and identify which ones carry the dormant Zombie Gene. What follows is a humorous routine as a spectator is ID'd, tested and, eventually, cured of their Zombiness! The performer shows his badge, then begins testing the spectators. One spectator signs a Zombie Detective card (sort of litmus test for zombies), and presses her thumb tip on the sensor. In a few seconds, a reading appears on the screen: "+" for positive. Bad news. In the end, the spectator is cured and gets a cute souvenir. Easy to do. Includes 50 Zombie Detector Cards, 1 "Zombie Investigate & Terminate Squad" badge, plus instructions. FREE SHIPPING
