Somatic Breathwork is a transformative practice that holds the key to unlocking stress, tension and emotions that might be stuck in the physical body. This particular breathwork can help with anxiety, depression, trauma release, while increasing energy, and connection to intuition and creativity. It can be as simple as a reset, a way to drop into a deep meditative state, or it can be transformative. It is an non-ordinary state of consciousness and is suitable for all healthy individuals.
We get comfy, lay down, and take a few rounds of three part breath. At the end of each round we suspend the breath and allow for deep inner connection, then end in meditation and relaxation.
A sound bath is an immersive experience where participants are 'bathed' in sound waves while in deep meditation. These sound waves, vibrations and frequencies are produced by instruments such as crystal bowls, rain sticks, gongs, tuning forks and drums.
Sound baths are an ancient practice, rooted in the idea that these particular frequencies correspond to specific energy centers in the body called chakras. The sound waves have been said to heal these centers and allow for your energy to move. The experience can be as simple as a relaxing nap or as transformative as a healing journey.
My version of Kundalini Pranayama is gentle yet invigorating. Pranayama is a yogic breathing technique. Kundalini is ancient practice that uses various breathing techniques and movements to activate the energy stored at the base of the spine. The energy can then move up the spine through the energy centers called chakras.
Working with the Kundalini energy can help relieve stress and anxiety, improve cognitive functioning, boost self perception and help create spiritual enlightenment or connection. The experience can be as simple as moving in repetition while breathing and feeling energized, or as transformative as a healing journey. My version of Kundalini Pranayama is to gently pull energy up the spine to feel energized and invigorated. An exercise that immediately centers me every time I practice it.
