I grew up in an old farmhouse in an old town in Western New York. My childhood has shaped my path tremendously. I moved to Utah in 2001 to study art education at Utah State University. After graduation, I taught high school photography in Southern California, got married and explored. I cherish the connections I made at that time in my life.
Fast forward two decades later, add three kids, a pug, deconstruction from a high demand religion and moving around the country multiple times, I've settled in Logan Utah. I now teach indoor cycling and yoga at Sports Academy and Racquet Club.
In my free time I love to trail run, eat chicken wings, meditate, read, watch Buffalo Bills football, dance like a hippie at concerts and hike & ski with my little family. Music is life.
My yoga practice began in 2001, the summer I left for college, the summer my father passed away. Yoga has been a part of my life longer than it hasn't. I've always loved moving my body, whether through dance, sports or fitness. Yoga felt different. Yoga has met various needs of mine the past quarter century. I've incorporated mindfulness into almost every aspect of my life, especially spending meditative time in the mountains, most days.
As I worked through my 200 hour YTT, it became key in not only fitness and mindfulness, but as a way of life. Sitting in daily Sadhana (meditation) changed my life. Daily Pranayama (breathwork) changed my life. With proper integration, these modalities allow for healing, connection and intense self study. Giving myself permission to sit in stillness was a transformative journey Im eager to share. Sat nam.
