What is your area of specialty?
My primary area of focus is mental health and substance use. I have six years of experience working as a Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician, supporting individuals experiencing addiction, mental health concerns, and the complex factors that often overlap between the two.
What is your counselling approach?
My approach is practical, collaborative, and honest. I believe it is important to understand your experiences and where your challenges come from, but I also believe counselling should help you move forward. Together, we will explore what is working, what is not working, and identify realistic steps toward change.
Do you only work with people who are ready to stop using substances?
No. Change looks different for everyone. Some people are looking to stop using substances completely, while others are exploring their relationship with substances, reducing use, managing harm, or understanding how substance use impacts their lives. We will work together to identify goals that are meaningful and realistic for you.
How often would we meet?
This depends on your needs and goals. Many clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions and adjust frequency over time.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are approximately 50 minutes.
What happens during the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss what brings you to counselling, understand your goals, and determine whether my approach is a good fit for you.
How do I know if we are a good fit?
Finding the right counsellor matters. I encourage you to reach out and ask questions before booking. My approach is supportive, practical, and direct—I believe in honest conversations, personal responsibility, and helping people create change that is realistic and sustainable.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Missed appointments or late cancellations may be charged the full session fee.
