About Me

Biography

I have taught for over 20 years in education. I am currently going into this next year as a fifth grade teacher at The Center for Creativity, Innovation and Discovery I have most recently been an administrator at Maria Montessori Academy, with various responsibilities where I learned many invaluable lessons about education from the leadership perspective. I previously taught 4th and 5th Grade in the DLI (Dual Language Immersion Program) at Bonneville Elementary School in Ogden School District. Earlier I taught 3rd and 4th grades at Century Elementary in Bear River City, Utah. I started my career as a 5th grade teacher and a computer and Physical Education teacher teaching six years at Thomas Edison Charter School. I have a Secondary Education degree in German and Physical Education, and a second bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. But the passion to teach using technology spurred me on to obtain a Masters degree in Technology of Educational Instruction from Lesley University. I enjoy being able to reach students and help to shape their future, utilizing the tools that will become apart of their lives. I have extensive experience in Flipping my classroom, using STEAM instruction, coding, and even doing Genius Hour, which has enriched and fully engaged my students. They have experienced first hand the 21st Century skills and tools that I have placed at their feet expecting and then seeing amazing things happen.
