When I retired, I knew I wanted to do something a little different—something that would allow me to continue making a difference in children’s lives. I had a vision: to purchase a used bookmobile and bring books directly to children who might not have access to a library.
It wasn’t easy. Bookmobiles were hard to find and very expensive. But I didn’t give up. I held onto my faith, stayed determined, and today, I’m living out a dream that has come true.
The purpose of Rolling Reader with Mrs. Brown is simple but powerful: to give out free books to children, especially those who may not be able to get to a library. I want to bring books and literacy resources directly into the community—because I know firsthand how a love of reading can change lives.
My goal is to empower children with access to books and inspire them to read, dream, and succeed. Reading builds confidence, opens doors, and helps create a foundation for lifelong learning.
After retiring as a Library Media Specialist, I realized my work wasn’t done. My love for reading and my passion for helping children continue to guide me. I still want to inspire young readers—to help them discover the joy of books and the power of stories.
