We desire to encourage the individual child, nurture each student’s mind, heart and soul with hands-on and creative enrichment in a nature-rich setting.
We partner with families to help shape engaged, critical-thinking and lifelong learners by blending homeschool education with a structured and collaborative environment.
Take a listen to the story of how Rolling Hills Academy came to be. RHA teachers share their experiences from public school teaching to homeschooling to starting RHA and how they rely on, and try to surrender to, Jesus in it all.
Our Core Values
Compassion Purpose Innovation Flexibility Family
Rolling Hills Academy is founded on and operates through five core values. These guiding principles are the lens at which we approach all aspects of our operation from lesson planning, conversations with one another and students, decision making and more.
Compassion- We believe that everyone deserves the same grace and love that our Savior offers us. We believe in seeking to understand a situation before reacting and offering forgiveness when necessary. We truly love our students and teachers.
Purpose- We believe that each school day should be filled with meaningful activity and driven by goal oriented content. We value our time and effort and believe it should be well spent.
Innovation- We believe in solving problems with creative solutions. We encourage both our students and teachers to “think outside the box” when faced with a challenge and to never feel stifled in an opportunity.
Flexibility- We believe in offering a balance of education and life both to our students and teachers. We offer students a variety of engaging opportunities in order to meet all needs and we recognize that plans often shift and we are receptive when change is necessary.
Family- We believe family is the foundation of education. We developed this educational opportunity with our families in mind and they will continue to be our primary focus. As teachers, we each support and love our own family but have also developed a new family within our Rolling Hills staff and students.
Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.
-Aristotle
True education begins in wonder and ends in wisdom.
-Kevin Clark & Ravi Scott
The mind is not a vessel that needs filling, but wood that needs igniting.
-Plutarch
Education is an atmosphere, a discipline and a life.
-Charlotte Mason
"You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field will clap their hands." -Isaiah 55:12 NIV
Testimonials:
"Homeschool was a desire of my heart that I didn't know I wanted. We saw so much fruit from it this past year, but something was missing. When we started meeting with our part-time school group, it was the missing puzzle piece! We were part of a small community of families who helped encourage and educate our kids with me. They gave classroom-like instruction with a side of flexibility and fun for the perfect fit. We made friends, worked in groups, went on field trips, and did fun unit studies taught by teachers who are so passionate about what they do. I can't wait to continue schooling with them!"
-Emily B., homeschooling mom of three
"I have really enjoyed this year, being with other kids and how it is still like you are in a classroom when you are with a group, just some kids are learning at a difference pace. It is really fun when you are doing a project to see their different points of view with it. Also, I like how we can play when we are finished with learning and how we have more than one teacher in the class. I like how you can share advice with other kids and they can share advice with you. I have really enjoyed this year and I am glad I did homeschool with my friends."
-Adeline, age 9
"Since attending Rolling Hills, on the first cold morning at home, my boys worked together to chop wood, build and fire, and cooked breakfast over their fire all on their own. (Bacon and eggs) Also, _ has really shown some confidence. He has enjoyed learning about money. He now enjoys going to the concession stand and purchasing his own goodies. And ordering on his own is huge! Thank you to all the teacher teams that work hard to improve the life of these amazing children. "
"My girls absolutely love RHA! They love learning/creating/experimenting in a fun loving environment, that lets them get outside of the “traditional” classroom. I have seen my girls gain confidence in group settings and really find their passion for learning."
