At the Rohingya Youth Union (RYU), we empower Rohingya youth to become leaders, advocates, and changemakers in their communities. Our work focuses on education, leadership, peacebuilding, and advocacy through a range of programs and initiaives:
1. Youth Leadership Development
We provide training and mentorship to help young Rohingya develop leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Our goal is to nurture confident leaders who can drive positive change in their communities.
2. Peacebuilding and Dialogue
RYU promotes peaceful coexistence and dialogue between the Rohingya and neighboring communities. Through workshops, discussions, and community initiatives, we aim to reduce tensions and foster understanding.
3. Education and Capacity Building
We organize programs to enhance knowledge in human rights, refugee law, and advocacy. By equipping youth with these skills, we empower them to advocate for their rights and participate effectively in decision-making.
4. Advocacy and Community Engagement
RYU works to amplify the voices of Rohingya youth at local, national, and international platforms. Through campaigns, awareness programs, and collaborations, we strive to create opportunities and solutions for our community.
5. Volunteer and Outreach Programs
We engage youth in volunteer initiatives, community service, and awareness campaigns to promote social cohesion, education, and youth empowerment.
Community Awareness & Advocacy – “We raise awareness on issues such as human trafficking, early marriage and gender equality in the community.”
Women & Youth Empowerment – “We facilitate sessions and mentorship for young women and young men to participate meaningfully in community life.”
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement – “We engage religious leaders, community stakeholders and youth groups to foster an inclusive approach.”
Impact:
Through our programs, RYU has reached hundreds of youths, helping them gain skills, confidence, and a platform to make their voices heard. We continue to expand our reach and build a stronger, united, and empowered Rohingya youth community.
