The following is an investigation into varying degrees of simulated experience with the natural world specifically focusing on botany and designed spaces. The work frequently features grow-lights that speak to this simulation as well as formally creating light and space informed sculpture. The work also manifest its self in an attempt to photograph cellphone tower trees in an idillic or romantic light. Lastly, there is a video still from a video of the artist watering their garden, along with artisanal pickled nopales from the sculpted plants in the artists garden. This work offers moments of levity in the conversations around the precarious nature of our planet amidst climate collapse and mass extinction. More work may be found at JustinRodier.com .
