Tour Program
Our guests will gather at the KTU campus at 9:30 a.m. and board our vehicles to begin the tour program.
First, we will reach the Sumela Monastery located in Altındere National Park in the district of Maçka. We will take minibuses to the start of the trail and then walk for 10 minutes to reach the Sumela Monastery. If you have a museum card, you can use it to visit the Sumela Monastery. If not, you can purchase a museum card online or at the monastery entrance for 100 TL, which will be valid for one year at all museums. After visiting Sümela Monastery, known as the hidden monastery beyond the clouds and Trabzon's most valuable treasure, which once hosted monks and the Christian community, we walk back along the trail to the minibuses and then to our tour vehicle.
After visiting the Sumela Monastery, we head to Zigana Mountain on the Silk Road route and stop for lunch at a restaurant in the forest. After lunch, we arrive at Hamsiköy to taste the delicious Hamsiköy sütlaç (rice pudding) and enjoy the view, where we have the opportunity to taste the famous Hamsiköy sütlaç on the spot.
After savoring the taste of our local delicacy, Hamsiköy sütlaç, we turn our route to the Atatürk Mansion, where Atatürk stayed during his visit to Trabzon. Nestled in greenery in Soğuksu, one of the city's most beautiful neighborhoods, the Atatürk Mansion is one of Trabzon's most special places, both for its architecture and the memories it holds. You will embark on a historical journey in this mansion where Atatürk stayed when he came to Trabzon and see the exhibited items up close. At the end of the day, our tour will be completed, and our guests will be dropped off at the KTÜ campus again.
