In recent years, accurately characterizing the mechanical behavior of rock masses has become a critical priority across various interdisciplinary domains-including transportation infrastructure, deep mining operations, underground waste disposal, and urban subsurface design. Developing safe, economic, and sustainable engineering solutions within these environments is no longer optional but essential.
Technological advances in data acquisition and processing, high precision geomechanical monitoring systems, and sophisticated stability assessment methodologies have shifted the perception of rock masses from passive ground to active engineering media. In this evolving context, rock mechanics now stand at the intersection of computational modeling, field-based observation, materials science, and risk-informed design. With this perspective, ROCKMEC'2025: 14th Regional Rock Mechanics Symposium aims to deepen the academic and practical knowledge base in rock engineering, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and provide an effective platform for sharing emerging technologies.
We believe that, through the participation of researchers, field professionals, field engineers, and technology providers, the symposium will serve as a dynamic bridge between knowledge generation and practical application.
We warmly invite you to join us in Trabzon on 1-3 October 2025, confident that your participation will contribute significantly to the value and impact of the symposium.
