Middle School Cheerleading:
Once students reach 7th grade, cheerleading is run through the Rockford Middle School Athletic Department.

Rockford Athletics requires all students to have a current (dated on or after April 15 of the current school year) MHSAA sports physical on file, and students will need to be registered through Final Forms
Late August through Mid-October
No tryouts, no experience necessary!
Two Sideline Cheer teams are formed each year.
Team Divisions are:
7th grade team (NRMS& ERMS combined)
8th grade team (NRMS& ERMS combined)
Teams will practice 3x/week and cheer at home (NRMS or ERMS) football games on Wednesdays.
Cheerleaders will also cheer a portion of the RHS Varsity Football Homecoming Game!
Late October through Mid- December (Christmas Break)
Tryouts held late October- must register online and have sports physical on file.
Two Competitive Cheer teams are formed each winter based on skill level and the number of athletes who try out.
Possible team divisions include:
7th Grade Team (NRMS & ERMS)
8th Grade Team (NRMS & ERMS)
Combined 7th/8th Grade Team (NRMS & ERMS)
Both teams practice 4-5x per week, and will compete on various weeknights and Saturdays.
