As someone who (1) loves rock music and (2) considers themselves an audiophile, I often have trouble finding music that both "rocks" to my taste and sounds good (i.e., is well-recorded* and/or has interesting sounds that can test a system). Most self-described audiophiles tend to classical or jazz. I listen to some of that, but it's just not my jam, as they say. Hence, I thought it would be useful to compile some lists of audiophile-quality rock music.
When it comes to rock, I'm a lumper rather than a splitter, so songs in such genres as Alternative, HipHop/Rap, Metal or Jazz sometimes become Rock for me, and so may be included in my playlists.
I originally emphasized Spotify playlists not because of the quality of their streams (obviously) but because anyone can make a free account and hear almost anything. Note that if something does not sound good to you, then it may just be because their stream is low-resolution. If you have a paid Spotify account, then streaming quality can go up CD quality.
Some Background on My Musical Tastes:
My musical tastes came of age in the early 1970s with such bands/artists as The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Ted Nugent (before his politics were so clear), UFO, and Uriah Heep. The Rolling Stones came a bit later, as did some punk (e.g., the Sex Pistols) and new wave (e.g., the Talking Heads, Television). Some might say I haven't matured much since then!

* For electronic music created in the digital domain, "recorded" is something of a misnomer. Also, as many have noted, electronic music often can sound quite good even at low resolution.
