Here's my audiophile-quality rock playlist - very much under construction.
The Qobuz version is here (Rock_Audiophile_Qobuz_1):

The Qobuz playlist was originally a duplicate of the Spotify one, but I started a Qobuz account in mid-May 2025 and have been adding to it a lot since then.
The Spotify version is here (Rock_Audiophile_1_Spotify) or here:

Or, in the box below, you can just click on a link and you will be taken directly to that song in Spotify.
Note that you need to have an account in Spotify or Qobuz. A free account works fine for Spotify, but provides low-resolution. A paid account gets you higher resolution (320 kbps, but you have to specify that under options), but still compressed (not CD quality of 16-bit/44.1kHz). Apparently, Spotify is working on a "HiFi" tier that will provide lossless (CD-quality) streaming.
A free account on Qobuz only allows you to hear a 30-second sample (and not from the start of the song).
Column A indicates the typical order in which I play the songs to get a bead on system changes or when demoing a product. This order is based on both characteristics of the songs and long-term familiarity. I would typically only make it through the first 10 or so for a demo. Eventually, I may add notes indicating what I find appealing or useful about each song.
You may note that a lot of the songs start with an interesting riff - I'm a sucker for that. A lot of them also feature good bass (tight, right, and/or extending fairly low in frequency). I'm also a bass freak.
CAVEAT EMPTOR: All of the songs on my list I heard originally on a CD. The versions linked to in Spotify or Qobuz may not be the same. In some cases I know they are not because I intentionally linked to a newer remastered version, which I realize may have been a mistake due to compressed dynamic range (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We34yxkyVWw&ab_channel=Erin%27sAudioCorner; https://dr.loudness-war.info/).
