Video Games Design and Development
About me
Hello! my name's Robin Knight and I am a 21 year old video games developer and designer from the UK. I started creating games in September of 2019 when I enrolled at West Suffolk College doing a video games development course for 2 years. Initially I started development using the Unity engine but after a couple months of using the engine I was unhappy with the results I was getting so I transferred to the Unreal Engine.
Unreal Engine instantly showed some promising results as I immediately felt comfortable with the engine and the visual blueprint scripting it uses. I released my first game in early 2020 after working on it for 6 weeks as a part of my college course assignment , I released this game despite it not being in a finished state in order to gain feedback from students in my class as well as people online. The most ambitious project I made whilst studying at West Suffolk College was a Mars themed multiplayer survival party game which was made using voxels. I created this project as my final major project for my second year of college and was given a grade of merit for my work.
I have recently finished my first year at West Suffolk College: University Studies where I have learnt a variety of key techniques when it comes to working in the real world such as working in a team environment , innovation and concept designing . Now that I have finished this year at university I am looking to push my learning further to be successful in the games industry to for fill my my goal of becoming a level designer and I look forward to having the opportunity to do this.
