Threads of Hope was written with classrooms in mind. Based on documented historical events and real family experience, it brings the Spanish Civil War, the refugee experience, and the human cost of World War II to life in a way that is accessible, emotionally resonant, and curriculum-connected for students ages 10 and up.
Robert C. Hutchison is a former classroom teacher and longtime educator who taught at schools across the Bucks County and Philadelphia area, and who wrote this book partly in response to conversations with students about history, family, and identity. He is available for school visits and author talks. See below for details.
