This Privacy Policy applies to the RoadAssist mobile application (โRoadAssistโ, โAppโ, โweโ, โourโ, or โusโ).
RoadAssist provides roadside assistance services by connecting customers with eligible mechanics. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, how it may be shared, and the choices available to users.
Depending on whether you use RoadAssist as a customer or mechanic, we may collect and process the following information.
Name
Verified phone number
Account role, such as Customer or Mechanic
Profile photo
City, area, or operating location
Customers may provide:
Vehicle type
Vehicle model
Vehicle color
Vehicle registration/license plate number
This information may be shown to the assigned mechanic to help identify the customer's vehicle.
RoadAssist may process:
Approximate location
Precise GPS location
Pickup/service location
Mechanic location while available for roadside-assistance jobs
Location is used to:
Determine the customer's roadside-assistance location
Find eligible nearby mechanics
Dispatch mechanics
Calculate or display location/distance information
Support live job tracking
Help mechanics reach customers
For mechanics who choose to go Online, RoadAssist may continue processing mechanic location through an Android foreground location service while the mechanic remains online. A persistent Android notification is displayed when this service is operating.
Mechanics can stop this location processing by going Offline or disabling the applicable location permission.
We may collect information relating to roadside-assistance requests, including:
Requested service
Problem description
Problem or vehicle photos voluntarily uploaded by the customer
Request location
Customer and assigned mechanic identifiers
Job creation and completion times
Job status
Service PIN/OTP verification status
Cancellation information
Ratings and feedback
Mechanics may be required to provide information for verification, including:
Aadhaar-related information where applicable
Driving licence information
Verification/KYC documents
KYC submission and approval status
KYC information is used for mechanic verification, fraud prevention, safety, and administration.
Depending on the service/payment method, RoadAssist may process:
Payment method
UPI ID
UPI transaction/reference information
Payment confirmation/status
Mechanic bank name
Bank account information
IFSC code
Wallet or earnings information
Payout request and payout history
RoadAssist primarily facilitates payment related to real-world roadside-assistance services.
Customers and assigned mechanics may communicate through RoadAssist during an active service job.
We may store:
Chat messages
Sender information
Associated job
Message timestamps
This information is used to facilitate the roadside-assistance service, maintain safety, investigate abuse, and resolve disputes.
RoadAssist may process photos or files that users voluntarily choose to upload, including:
Profile photos
Vehicle/problem photos
Mechanic verification/KYC documents
Camera access is used only when the user chooses a feature requiring photo capture.
RoadAssist may process technical information necessary to operate the App, including:
Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) notification token
App/device identifiers required by Firebase services
Notification information
Security and integrity information used to protect the App and backend services
This information may be used for job alerts, account notifications, security, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
We use information to:
Create and authenticate RoadAssist accounts
Provide roadside-assistance services
Match customers with nearby eligible mechanics
Dispatch mechanics
Enable live job/location updates
Identify customer vehicles
Enable customer-mechanic communication
Verify mechanic identity and KYC status
Record service payments and mechanic payouts
Send job, account, KYC, payment, and service notifications
Provide customer support
Prevent fraud, misuse, unauthorized access, and abuse
Maintain security and reliability
Resolve disputes
Comply with applicable legal obligations
Location is an important part of RoadAssist because roadside-assistance services depend on knowing where assistance is required and where available mechanics are located.
Customers provide location when requesting roadside assistance.
Mechanics who voluntarily switch Go Online may have their location periodically updated so RoadAssist can determine whether they are eligible for nearby service requests.
When Android requires it, mechanic online location processing operates using a visible foreground-service notification.
RoadAssist does not use location for advertising purposes.
Users can control location permissions through Android system settings. Restricting location access may prevent certain RoadAssist features from functioning correctly.
RoadAssist does not sell personal information.
Information may be shared only where necessary to operate the service.
When a roadside-assistance job is assigned, limited information necessary to complete the service may be shared between the assigned customer and mechanic.
For example, a mechanic may receive relevant:
Customer/service location
Customer name where necessary
Vehicle information
Requested service
Problem description/photo
Job-related communication
Customers may receive information about their assigned mechanic that is necessary to safely receive the service.
RoadAssist uses Google/Firebase infrastructure that may process information on our behalf, including services such as:
Firebase Authentication
Cloud Firestore
Firebase Cloud Storage
Firebase Cloud Functions
Firebase Cloud Messaging
Firebase App Check
Google Play Integrity services where applicable
These services are used for authentication, database storage, file storage, backend processing, security, and notifications.
Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to:
Comply with applicable law
Respond to valid legal requests
Prevent fraud or abuse
Protect RoadAssist users
Protect the security and integrity of the service
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information.
These may include:
Firebase Authentication
Access-controlled databases
Firebase security rules
Restricted backend operations
App integrity/security checks
Protected storage
Role-based access controls
However, no electronic system can guarantee absolute security.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for:
Providing RoadAssist services
Maintaining user accounts
Safety and fraud prevention
Resolving disputes
Accounting and transaction records
Compliance with applicable legal obligations
Personal profile, KYC, payment, and uploaded-file information may be deleted when an eligible account-deletion request is successfully completed.
Certain completed service or transaction records may be retained in anonymized or legally required form where necessary for accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
Users can request deletion of their RoadAssist account.

Account deletion may remove information including:
User profile
Private account information
Device/notification token
Mechanic KYC/private verification data where applicable

Certain anonymized or legally required transaction/service records may be retained as described above.
Users may also contact RoadAssist regarding:
Access to personal information
Correction of information
Privacy questions
Account/data deletion
You can control Android permissions such as:
Location
Camera
Notifications
through your device settings.
Some RoadAssist functionality may not work if permissions required for that feature are disabled.
RoadAssist is intended for adults who can legally request or provide roadside-assistance services. RoadAssist is not designed or directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.ย
We may update this Privacy Policy when RoadAssist features, legal requirements, or data practices change.
Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
