Research Projects

The Ricoy lab has the primary goal of building and maintaining accessible neurophysiology materials to promote access and understanding in several key areas of insect physiology:

  1. Using models to study how invertebrates (insects) adapt to their environment

  2. Examine and develop low-cost approaches to broaden participation in neuroscience from historically underserved populations.

  3. Using videography to study how invertebrates (insects) move (locomotion) in various settings to quantify behavior

  4. Invertebrates as models of natural and drug reward (Conditioned Place Preference)

  5. To examine neural mechanisms involved in these behaviors, the lab is now interested in establishing videography, electrophysiology and mathematical modeling approaches.
