Outreach

One of the critical focus of the Ricoy Lab is applications of Neuroscience in the educational community. This is chiefly found through our focus on outreach and development. Through his role as Director of Outreach for the Grass Foundation, Dr. Ricoy is committed to promoting service and outreach through neuroscience education.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ricoy Lab persists to provide accessible education especially through accessible neuroscience laboratory tools. Support from the Grass Foundation went to developing a UArizona Neuroscience Tool Library to educate a Southern Arizona high school group of more than 40 students. A peer mentor model was employed to direct University of Arizona students of diverse backgrounds to educate the local Title I school. Notably every single student had access to multiple amplifiers and roaches for the purpose of exploring a variety of physiological phenomena.
