- Career-with-ISRO Sep. 09, 2018 R. Nandakumar:
- I had a fulfilling career spreading over 33 years at Space Applications Centre (SAC), ISRO at Ahmedabad.
- I enjoyed my assignments. I am proud to have been part of the first operational remote sensing mission of ISRO, namely, IRS-1A when the software engineering culture was introduced at ISRO under the leadership of Late Shri DS Kamat from SAC.
- I feel proud to have written the browse products generation and FIRE-240 film recording software packages, which were operated near 100% flawlessly at the NRSA (now NRSC).
- I am proud to have played a key role in the 2005-2008 ISPRS-ISRO Cartosat-1 Scientific Assessment Programme involving 30 investigators spread across the world.
- I played a key-role in organising the first ever ISRO Colloquium on Software Quality at SAC.
- I am happy to have lead a small team, which was responsible for operationalising a CASE-tool infrastructure based on open source software.
- I liked my involvement in conducting a literature survey on software quality and my subsequent publication in the ACM SIGSOFT Softare Engineering Notes May 2014 issue on State of the Art in Software Quality Aessurance. The above-mentioned article has been downloaded more than 600 times at the ACM Digital Library site.
- One of the software development, that I lead, namely the Internal-Software-Asset-Management-Software (i-SAM) was awarded Indian Software Copyright during this year.
