Rules/Guidelines

Teams: Students will compete in teams of up to four. Sign up here: bit.ly/moleday18

Puzzles: There are eight total puzzles, all of which are science themed. Puzzles are in increasing order of difficulty, so the 2nd puzzle is more difficult than the 1st. Puzzles may challenge you, requiring teamwork, creativity, and persistence, but not complicated science knowledge! The first puzzle will be released Monday October 22rd during lunch in room 345.

Answers: The answer to a puzzle will be inputted onto a "grader" website, which will lead you to the next puzzle. When you finish a stage/puzzle, immediately email rmhs.mole.day@gmail.com with your solution to the previous stage (this means how you solved it as well as the answer itself).

Hints: Hints to puzzles will be released at 11:15 AM and 6:00 PM each day.

Resources: You are allowed to use any resource available to you (including calculators, textbooks, computer programs, and the Internet, and NOT including other teams!)

Pay special attention to the wording of each puzzle. Specific words and phrases are meant to lead you in the correct direction.

Remember Chekhov's Gun; everything in the puzzle is there for a reason. If you're stuck, what haven't you used yet?

Many puzzles require thinking outside of the box—have your team brainstorm ideas, and test each one accordingly.

Work quietly and secretively! Remember: there is only one grand prize.

Most importantly, don’t give up! The puzzles are tricky, but we believe in you.
