1. I am invasive from Maine to North Carolina west to Wisconsin and Missouri. I occur in forest edges, open woodlands, fields, hedgerows, coastal areas, salt marshes and distributed lands. I amass over plants, producing dense shade to weaken and kill them. My plant is a deciduous woody, twining vine. My leaves are alternate, glossy and rounded with finely toothed margins. My flowers are small green clusters, and my fruits are green to yellow which split open to reveal fleshy red-orange anils. I germinate in late spring.
