Dr. Radhakrishnan E.K is currently working as Associate Professor at School of Biosciences of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and as Hon' Director, Business innovation and incubation centre (BIIC), and also as Hon' Joint Director of Inter University Centre for Organic Farming and Sustainable Agriculture (IUCOFSA), Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Hon' director of Dr. N Radhakrishnan International Centre for  Medical Innovation(NRICMI), Director of Industry Academy Interface 

He completed his doctoral degree from Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India in 2008 and Post doctoral studies from The University of Tokyo, Japan in 2010. 

During his 13 years of research, he has published 162 research publications, 38 book chapters and 3 review papers. He edited 18 books from Springer Nature and Elsevier 

He has 4840 citations and h-index of 38 and has delivered 55 invited talks in various national and international conferences and seminars. So far 14 PhDs have been completed under his guidance. He has completed ten major research projects and 1 minor project from various funding agencies and has 6 ongoing projects as PI. 

His research areas include translational applications of plant microbe interactions, AMR and one health, microbial natural products, microbial synthesis of metal nanoparticles, development of polymer based nanocomposites with antimicrobial effects for food packaging and medical applications, venous diseases and wound healing, AIML based analysis of microbial genome
