Research AREA overview

My research interests span wireless networks, multimedia, resource allocation, information and cyber security, and optimization as they pertain to protocol design and network architecture.

Wireless Network resource allocation is essential to ensure both Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) objectives are met.  The dilemma arises when we need to consider the nature, veracity, and usefulness of the data provided to our resource allocation mechanism, this is where protocol design becomes necessary.

If the data we utilize is truthful and useful, we can rely on traditional mathematical optimization techniques to obtain our system and user objectives.  If the data is dubious, then we must rely on game theoretic truth-evoking methods, such as mechanism design.  If, on the other hand, the usefulness of our theoretical data model comes into question, we must utilize empirical methods, such as machine learning, to validate or modify our model.
