Hello hello! My name is Jam -- also known as RJam9 or racheljam9, depending on the platform. To keep it simple, call me Jam.
I use they/them pronouns and hail from Ontario, Canada. At the moment I am currently in university studying English, History and Creative Writing alongside a general interest in the Digital Humanities field. While creative writing is my main love, I also spend a lot of time doing digital and traditional art, making music and online videos, crafting, and losing my mind over various bits of media.
I have participated in the Fandom Trumps Hate online charity auctions, had my work featured in local writing magazines, and even won a few awards for my writing (yes, I am very vague. I do not want to dox myself. Heh).
I have loved creative writing since before I could even properly write -- literally, in that when I was younger I would make my own storybooks that my mom would later have to properly transcribe because my handwriting was so bad. Thus, the reason for this website in the first place! I need a better way to get my thoughts out then just complaining online since oftentimes I'll break the character limit while rambling.
I have also been posting online for over a decade at this point so there is likely a lot of old stuff you can find by me. However, my main accounts at the moment for posting my content is Archive of Our Own (since 2020) and YouTube (since 2023). And now, of course, this website. So, if any of my fanfics or YouTube essays have interested you, you might enjoy my original writing as well -- hopefully. I won't promise you anything.
While I do tend to focus on transformative works, my original writing is just as important to me. My dream in life has always been to become a published author one day so I appreciate each and every kind word I get. For my writing in general, I like realistic fantasy and sci-fi, alongside platonic and/or complicated relationships and characters dealing with strange or altered perceptions and perspectives. The more fun I can have with it, the better.
Thanks so much for reading this far, by the way. And I do hope you all enjoy my content currently out, and what is coming down the pipeline. :)
