Showcase Artifact 1: Intention Statements and Growth Reflection
Internship at Infosys as AI Engineer
AI Engineer Intern at Infosys (Summer 2025), where I developed a multimodal AI system integrating speech recognition, large language models, and conversational UX.
This page documents my Honors Journey at Indiana University Indianapolis through two courses: H200: Introduction to Honors, where I first mapped my goals as an entering Honors student, and H496: Senior ePortfolio, where I reflect on those goals as a graduating senior.
This ePortfolio is designed for potential employers in AI and technology sectors, as well as graduate school admissions committees.
When I started my Honors journey in H200, I was full of ambition and hope. At that time, I just wanted to prove my work ethic and imagine myself succeeding in Artificial Intelligence. I had motivation for sure but I was still learning how to turn that energy into something meaningful outside of the classroom.
Now, as I get ready to graduate in Spring 2026, I look back and realize how much I have changed. I am not just a student anymore. I am an AI engineer in training with real experience in industry, government, and academia, I guess this reflection places my original intentions next to what I have actually accomplished. It shows how my goals slowly moved from ideas on paper into real and measurable outcomes.
Who I Was: My Original H200 Intentions
“I am” statement (H200): I saw myself as hardworking and determined, someone who celebrated every achievement that came after overcoming a challenge. Persistence, hope, and planning for the future meant everything to me, especially when it came to academics and my career path. Writing my goals down helped keep me focused and motivated me to continue pushing forward even when things felt uncertain.
“I want to become” statement (H200): I wanted to become a successful Honors student at Indiana University, someone who stood out in AI coursework while maintaining respect, accountability, and an open mindset. I wanted to grow as a thinker, improve my GPA, dive deeper into my studies, and hopefully inspire others through my dedication and work ethic.
Back then, I was focused mainly on building discipline and confidence. I wanted to be reliable and consistent, but I did not really have major experiences yet. I had goals, but not much proof behind them at the time.
Who I Am Now: Updated Intentions
I am: Today, I am an AI engineer in training who has turned ambition into practical experience. I approach problems from multiple perspectives, communicate clearly, and bring technical depth into my work. My internships at Infosys and the Indiana Legislative Services Agency gave me opportunities to work on real world systems, where I learned how to combine AI engineering with human centered design and the technical details that make technology function effectively. I take leadership roles, mentor others, and collaborate within teams. I value accountability, adaptability, and ethical decision making when working with innovative technologies.
I am becoming: I am working toward becoming a technically advanced and socially responsible AI professional. I want to build intelligent systems that create meaningful impact, whether in industry or public service. I am also learning how to explain complex AI concepts to broader audiences, not just engineers or technical experts. My goal is to lead teams, use technology to improve systems, and contribute positively to my community. Impact, integrity, and continuous learning are becoming the core principles guiding my career development.
Reflection: Why This Growth Matters
When I compare my original H200 statements to who I am today, the growth feels very clear academically also professionally and personally.
Anyway In academically I moved from focusing mainly on maintaining strong grades to applying advanced AI concepts in real scenarios. Courses in Artificial Intelligence, Human Computer Interaction, and Applied Data Science strengthened my analytical thinking and helped me build a strong technical foundation. Honors projects challenged me to connect theory with application. My GPA and awards are important, but honestly what means more to me is the confidence I have developed when facing complex problems independently.
But regarding in professionally, I have transformed my early intentions into tangible achievements. At Infosys, I worked as an AI Engineer Intern and helped develop a multimodal AI system that integrated speech recognition, large language models, retrieval augmented generation, and conversational user experience design. That internship was a turning point because it transformed my interest in AI into real engineering skills. Currently, my work at the Indiana Legislative Services Agency allows me to support technology operations for the State of Indiana. That role has expanded my understanding of AI, infrastructure, and how technology supports public sector systems. These experiences confirmed that I am moving in the right direction and helped strengthen my communication skills, teamwork abilities, and systems thinking approach.
I would say that I have grown into a stronger communicator and leader. Earlier in my academic journey I focused mostly on personal discipline, resilience and self improvement. Now, my perspective is broader. I mentor fellow students, contribute actively to collaborative projects, and present my work through professional presentations and discussions. Success is no longer just about individual achievements. It is about creating impact, maintaining reliability, and helping others grow alongside me.
