Riverton High School Silver Pups Preschool & Child Care Programs - Riverton, Utah

About Us

Welcome to the Preschool & Child Care Labs located inside Riverton High School. We provide services for children from 6 weeks of age to 5 years old. Our goal is to provide children with a caring and enriching environment that will encourage their growth and development. We believe that each child is a unique individual. We are sensitive to a child's social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs.

Our Preschool and Child Care Lab have been established as teaching facilities for high school students who are interested in child-related careers and those who desire more experience in parenting skills. Trained and prepared high school students will teach the preschool classes and work daily with the children in different learning situations.

All classes will have 1-2 adults supervising them at all times.

Preschool Hours: 9:30 am -11:45 am

The Silver Pups Preschool Lab is designed to help train high school students to plan, prepare, and teach developmentally appropriate curriculum designed specifically for children 4 years old. Registration will be open to 3 year olds if there are spots available towards the end of registration. Fill out the waiting list form for a 3-year-old to place your name on the list.

The instructor supervises the high school students who are excited to work with the children in our program. Students have completed courses in Child Development and Early Childhood Education. Many are interested in careers working with and teaching young children.

Child Care Hours: 7:00 am -4:00 pm

The Child Care Lab provides service for children from 6 weeks of age to 5 years old. It is an integral part of our Early Childhood Education program and allows high school students to get hands-on experience with infants and toddlers.

Our objective is to provide daily a balance of reading readiness, math, science, exploration time, circle time, activity time, play time and nap/rest time. The care is provided by a qualified child car manager and accompanying adult aides. In addition, high school students participate in the child care program. These students have either completed a successful year in our preschool program or have completed one semester of child development class.
