Enrollment Steps

Congrats on applying to college!! That is a BIG deal! Complete the following steps below and you will be all set!!

• Complete the NC Residency Determination http://www.ncresidency.org
• Apply for Admission at http://www.cfnc.org
• Durham Tech Student ID Number

o You will receive your Durham Tech Student ID number in your Welcome Letter via email!

• Activate Your Account http://www.webadvisor.durhamtech.edu
• Complete the FAFSA starting October 1 http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

o FAFSA is the financial aid form needed in order for you to receive money to help you pay for college

o If you are DACA, have a VISA, or undocumented, please visit the Global Center at Durham Tech for financial aid info! Please do not submit the FAFSA online.

• Attend a Connect Session http://www.durhamtech.edu/admissions/connectsession.htm

o This is your mandatory orientation session to Durham Tech

o You will need to sign up online prior to the session. Please see the calendar for details.

• Submit an official transcript after first semester grades are in ONLY if you have already taken the SAT/ACT (with qualifying scores) OR you have a 2.6 unweighted GPA or higher. You may not be required to take the placement test. Please contact your DTCC liaison for more information.
• Take the Durham Tech placement test (Building 10, Room 10-300)

o English/Reading/Writing: 2.5 hours (on average)

o Math: 2.5 hours (on average)

Photo ID and Durham Tech Student ID number are mandatory. No registration required.

o Non-native English speakers, we encourage you to take the ESL placement test, instead of the English/Reading/Writing placement test. Contact Paula Wilder at wilderp@durhamtech.edu

• Meet with DT Academic Advisor (Your College Liaison is not your advisor) (Building 10, Room 10-200 ext. 1123)

o Text 484.517.4615 to hold your place in line while you are on your way to campus

o Main Campus Walk-in Hours

§ Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

§ Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

• Register for Fall 2018 classes Beginning April 2018. Your advisor will tell you the specific dates.
• Obtain your student id card (Building 8)
• International/ DACA/Undocumented (Building 1, Room 1-148)

o Please visit our Center for the Global Learner at Durham Tech.

• Verify Final Transcript/Test Scores have been received (Building 10, Room 10-201, ext 1800)
• Verify Financial Aid has been received and awarded (Building 10, Room 10-209, ext 1408)
