Grade Chairs are in charge of communicating with the team and administration about Field Trips.
A well-planned field trip is an invaluable educational experience if used effectively. It is an effective means of making the school a vital part of the community and of using community resources for learning situations. Therefore, field trips require careful planning to ensure the desired results. In order to make maximum use of these experiences, the following guidelines are to be followed:
Total field trip costs should not exceed $80 a year for parent expenses.
All field trips must relate to a current unit of study and must be appropriate for the age and developmental level of the child.
Parent permission slips will be utilized to ensure that parents are aware and agree to the off-campus activity. No student may go on any field trip without a permission slip, signed by the parent, on file in the office and a copy taken on the trip.
Parents who are to assist should be familiar with their particular roles and the procedures involved in the trip.
The field trip request should be completed at least four weeks in advance of the scheduled trip. A field trip approval form must be completed for all field trips.
All forms are on the staff website.
Grade chairs should inform the cafeteria as soon as a field trip is planned so they can prepare the bag lunches and adjust the lunch menu accordingly.
