All ROMS band students are highly encouraged to take lessons weekly or bimonthly. Dorchester District 2 has approved and cleared private lessons instructors to give lessons to all instruments throughout the school year. Private lessons are the best way to get one-on-one help with a professional musician at a convenient location. Your child will get 100% of the instructors attention during the lesson, and the instructor is there to help your musician succeed and grow. While we as a band staff try to listen to every student regularly, we are limited by class size and time. If you choose to join the lessons academy your child will meet with an instructor once a week at a scheduled time in the Fort Dorchester High School band room. Transportation will be provided to Fort Dorchester through a travel form that can be provided in the the River Oaks Main Office.
