My name is Ritvik Gupta. I was born in India in 1998 and graduated from The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali, in 2023. My academic background includes a Biology major and a Science and Society Studies minor. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim, Germany. Within the institute, I am a member of the Didier Stainier lab, which is part of the Department of Developmental Genetics.
My research interests are centered around the field of Developmental Biology, specifically focusing on zebrafish heart development. I am particularly interested in understanding the complexities of cardiac development, a dynamic process that occurs during early embryogenesis. By uncovering the key molecular and cellular drivers of heart formation, my research aims to contribute to the fight against congenital heart diseases, offer insights into heart regeneration strategies, and serve as a valuable resource for tissue engineering approaches.
