June: We are ready to host yet another cohort of Rosetta interns. This year, we have with us Keagan Hitt from Worcester Polytechnic College. We look forward to an exciting summer.
May: Drum roll for the recent graduates from the group: Duy and Megan. Duy is headed for a PhD at Tulane University. Megan is headed to work as a process engineer with the Haskel company. Heartiest congratulations, graduates. We are super proud of your achievements.

February: Our high school intern Kohana Pal-Basu won this year’s Environmental Protection Commission (EPC) Environmental Merit Award for her project presentation Computationally Designing Proteins that Bind to Heavy Metals at the Hillsborough Regional STEM Fair. She is now headed to present her work in the Florida State STEM Fair as well as in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair, Arizona, 2026. This is AMAZING!! Congratulations Kohana and Mika, lots of hard work paid off.
January: Welcome to our new undergraduate members of the group: Kahther and Jason. Super excited to start working with you.
January: We are excited to welcome a new PhD student to the group - Farhan Kadir Rafi. He completed a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. His undergraduate research focused on the molecular simulation of laser sintering of nanoparticles. A grand welcome to our group. We are super excited to start working together.
August: Welcome to our new high school research intern, Kohana Pal-Basu from Middleton high school. She will be mentored by Mika.
June: We are ready to host yet another cohort of Rosetta interns. This year, we have with us virtually Kamille Watkins, a health science major from Spelman College. At the end, she presented her work at ABRCMS, and RosettaCommons.
May: Drum roll for the recent graduates from the group: William, Autumn, and Lauren. William is headed for a PhD at UF. Lauren is headed to obtain a master's in Biomedical Engineering at UF. Autumn is headed to work with Baeyers. Heartiest congratulations, graduates, we are super proud of you.
April: Samanta Lab received a New Researcher Grant (NRG) through the university’s Internal Awards Program.
March: Taikhoom (ChBME sophomore) and William (ChBME senior) presented their posters at the South Regional Conference. William won the second prize in the poster competition. Congratulations, William and Taikhoom, on your first poster presentation.

January: We are excited to welcome a new PhD student to the group - Meruyert Rustembek a.k.a. Mika. She completed a master’s degree in Materials and Nanotechnology, focusing on biomaterials, from the University of Pisa and earned a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Eurasian National University, Kazakhstan.
August: Welcome to our new undergraduate students Duy, Selene (ChBME Juniors).
August: We are excited to welcome a new PhD student to the group, Sarang Shindalkar. He is co-advised by Drs. Stern and Samanta. Sarang completed his integrated master's in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Jalna, India.
