Simple Radial Gradient Filter (SiRGraF) First Look

SiRGraF applied on the data taken on August 1st, 2010, by space-based STEREO/COR-1 telescope. The outward moving dynamic features are coronal mass ejections (CMEs).  The white circle in the movie represents the outer limb of the Sun.

More on SiRGraF can be found here.

A Christmas Solar

A beautiful scene presented here when the recently launched Solar Orbiter (SolO) passed close to the Earth during the Christmas of 2021. This movie is made using the SiRGraF processed data from the Metis telescope onboard SolO. A CME could be seen on the left side while a comet can be identified moving in from the bottom-left corner. A very bright object can be seen at the bottom side moving from near the black disk to the right side. This is the planet Venus which happened to be in the line of site of our telescope.
