In our day to day life we have faced many problems and sometimes we feel loneliness, stress. But as a student of literature through these all kinds of problems we learn so many new things. As our sir Dr. Dilip Barad said that 'SHOW MUST GO ON' , I'm sure literature always enhances your vision to see the world in a different way, you think rationally and think deeper. Being a student of literature, since the five years journey of my literature I'm diving up in the huge ocean of literature. Through these five years I've come across many poems, short Stories, novels and drama etc.

Literature, the word itself suggests a lot, when I first came to the Department of English at that time Dr. Dilip Barad sir asked only one simple question: What is literature? And why we study literature? At that time I had only one definition in my mind: "Literature is a mirror of society" but at that time I didn't know the deeper meaning of literature. Now I have learnt so many new things through literature and now I'm able to give this answer. For me "Literature is an x-ray image of society". It provides us both the aspects like negative and positive. Through literature we can see how culture and colour plays a vital role in the human's life, cultural conflict, the reality of politics, the dark and light side of the world etc. Literature taught me to be an observer, not judgemental. Rather than preferring one over another, I try to both neutrally. While reading books, I unintentionally put myself into the place of character and start thinking that what if I were in his or his place. Which cultivated a humanitarian approach. Now I strongly believe that Humanity is more important than religion, authority and also so-called morality.

Harry Potter taught me that "LIFE IS ALL ABOUT CHOICES YOU MAKE, Right choice at the right time will decide your future. No one will come from the sky to help you."

Dedication, determination and Hard work I learned from Santiago of The Old man and the Sea. Even though he fails, he wins in the minds of the readers.

So, here I would like to give a metaphor of the Root of tree to the literature. As the root nourishes the tree by keeping the soil attached. In the same way, literature nurtures you by integrating all aspects of the world. Through root we can find that in literature is like root. Literature is like Roots, it depends on you what you are reading and how you are thinking. Literature gives you a million characters, incidents, stories, myths, truth, lie, sense, right, wrong, views with a lot of examples so how you are reading, thinking and applying in your life, it depends on you. It gives me strength to stay strong in any stormy and rainy situation. And grow individually. The roots show us different kinds of areas of life and the most important thing is that grow with own way.
