Hello there !
Namaste! My name is Rita Abani (she/her) , and I am a PhD student at the John A Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University. I completed my BS-MS from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal (IISER-B) with an external MS from Caltech.
I am intrigued by the advances in Photonics, Nanodevices and emerging quantum technologies and am impressed by their wide ranging applications be they in medicine, astronomy or metallurgy!
In my free time, I love to write poetry or blog about a plethora of topics ranging from nature to other contemporary issues. Fast paced quotidian life has made us forget the importance of literature and muse, and hence I believe poetry is a succinct and fun way of conveying my message or even explaining a scientific concept . I enjoy playing tennis and piano occasionally humming tunes from ABBA and Audiomachine. I like to spend my free time interacting with children, especially young girls from rural areas to understand the grass-root level problems in the society, and maybe help raise awareness about them.
I am always open to any questions, advice or suggestions , if you wish to share any, feel free to contact me via email or any of the media listed below !
A list of my projects can be found on my GitHub profile or on LinkedIn (warning: they might be terribly out of date!)
