Hello there !

My name is Rita Abani (she/her) , I am currently a visiting Master’s thesis student at the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy at Caltech, affiliated to the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhopal  (IISER-B).

I am intrigued by the advances in Photonics, Nanodevices and emerging quantum technologies.  Astroinformatics  and the applications of  ML and AI for computational Physics are a few areas I have briefly explored.  Anything entangled to the domain of applied physics captivates me and entices me on an exploratory quest !

In my free time, I love to write poetry or blog about a plethora of topics ranging from nature to other contemporary issues. Fast paced quotidian life has made us forget the importance of literature and muse, and hence I believe poetry is a succinct and fun way of conveying my message or even explaining a scientific concept . I enjoy playing tennis and piano occasionally humming tunes from ABBA and Audiomachine. I like to spend my free time interacting with children, especially young girls from rural areas to understand the grass-root level problems in the society, and maybe help raise awareness about them.
