The Property

Ripley House & Garden is perched atop the rolling hills of Holmes County, the heart of Ohio's Amish Country. The beveled-wood farmhouse dates back to the early 19th century, where it began life as a one-room log cabin. As farm and family grew so too did the house, where it stands today as a lovely example of salt-box style architecture. The thick log walls of the original cabin can still be seen and enjoyed from inside the house.

Our garden and flowerbeds decorate the property with a variety of blooms and colors during the warmer months and the surrounding countryside provides year-round scenic views. The neighbors passing by often do so via horse-drawn buggy. It's such a unique sound and wonderful opportunity to wave and shout hello!
