Industry Visitor, Carew and Company Bangladesh Limited.

Description: During the first week of the year 2025, I visited the production facility of Carew and Company Bangladesh Limited (CarewCo). It is the largest sugar production and distillation facility of Bangladesh. CarewCo started commercial operations in 1938 under the British governance. The facility has large zones for sugarcane farmlands, raw material storage unit, sugar production mill, distillery unit, mechanical annex unit, logistics unit, sugar packaging unit, etc. The majority electrical machines, control panels, alternator, turbines are manufactured in late 1800s, which are still functional. The facility also has abandoned railway tracks which was used for transportation purposes in old times.

Operations Engineer, Banco Energy Generation Ltd.
May 2024-September 2024.
Description: In 2024, I briefly worked as an Operations Engineer at the Banco Energy Generation Limited. It is a 54MW heavy fuel oil fired powerplant, under the subsidiary of Doreen Power Generations and Systems Limited. The powerplant has three MAN 18V48/60TS diesel engines, which is one of most powerful and safest medium speed engine used for industrial applications. The powerplant has a large engine hall, a control room, an administrative building, an exhaust gas boiler area with two exhaust gas boilers, an air-cooled radiator area, a fuel treatment plant, a water treatment plant, a large tank farm for fuel storage, a substation with power and station transformers, and a jetty. I worked in shifts to ensure smooth operation of the powerplant, studied a lot of systems related to internal combustion engines, fuels, lubrications, pumps, instrument air compressors, etc., kept records in powerplant logbooks, and collaborated with mechanical and electrical maintenance teams to conduct and oversee maintenance works.

Mechanical Engineering Intern, Rangs Workshop Ltd.
November 2022.
Description: In late 2022, I worked as an intern for a month at the Rangs Workshop Limited, an automotive service and consultancy center for Mitsubishi Motors. I have been assigned to perform the duties and responsibilities of an automobile service engineer, including maintenance assignments on Mitsubishi, Mahindra, and Nissan automobiles, at the general repair section, overhauling shop, and HVAC section. I have monitored the battery repair works on Nissan and Mitsubishi hybrid electric vehicles. I also observed and deduced several automobile problems with solutions based on customer complaints, and task cards. Moreover, I have prepared an in-depth report on the daily assignments and vehicle maintenance methodologies.

Description: From January 2023 to July 2023, I worked with IMechE AUST Student Chapter, the student organization of the reputed engineering association, Institue of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). I worked as the Treasurer of the Executive Panel. During my service, I have worked to plan and organize academic sessions, educational seminars, and workshops with renowned organizations. I also have prepared and maintained financial statements and cash flow of the student organization. Furthermore, as a team, we have successfully organized five educational seminars and workshops in one semester, being the most active student organization of the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering of Ahsanullah

Movies!
One thing that I never get tired of is watching movies. I always enjoy a good movie. From my perspective, a good feature film always tells a story—a story that aligns and connects with our daily lives. The story could be an epic science fiction based on a galaxy a long time ago in far away. The story could feature a man leaving his family behind at home to serve humanity. The story could feature a struggling actor and his best friend trying to make their names in the 1960's Hollywood renaissance. It could also be a story of a woman becoming the best detective in the British Revolution era. Or the story could feature multiple groups of people becoming the absolute best in their own leagues. Here are some of my favorite movies that I have enjoyed so far.
Books!
It is a shameful thing that I do not read books very often. However, I do encourage people to read books. I have only read a couple of books in my lifetime. The majority of them fall into mystery, crime-thriller, fantasy, and detective fiction genres. Here is a small collection of my books that I have read so far.
