Despite all his fame, Pepe Smith was just a simple man—a very low-key individual who liked to jest around and never failed to entertain the people around him. Knowing him, he never turned down signing an autograph or taking a picture with fans; he loved that! 

Music is His Passion

Even after the band parted ways, He continued to follow his passion for music. Perpetually appearing in numerous bar gigs and rock concerts with his new band Drivetrain, or simply as Pepe Smith, he always dominated every stage he performed at. Pepe also had musical collaborations with Ely Buendia, Ramon Jacinto and various OPM artists and bands. 

He is Not Just a Rock Star

Our beloved Piyaps also has talent in acting! In 2016, Pepe Smith starred on his very own movie Singing In Graveyards where he portrayed 68-year-old impersonator of a Filipino rock legend who lives alone on the borders of reality, imagination, and mysticism. He also casted in movies like Banal, Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros, Boy Pick-Up and Above the Clouds.

Pepe and Playboy

On October 12, 2012, Pepe Smith headlines Playboy’s Rock the Rabbit concert at San Lazaro Leisure Park, together with Maria Cafra and Hilera plus other local bands.  He was featured and did a cover for our September 2011 Music Issue of Playboy Magazine.

Sadly, earlier today, a devastating news rocked our world. Pepe Smith, our beloved Piyaps, has passed away due to cardiac arrest at the age of 71.

As we mourn with the passing of an icon, let us reflect on the indelible mark he left on the OPM music landscape and the hearts of millions. 

Though he may have left this world, his music remains a timeless testament, to uplift, and unite us all though the power of his music. May your soul rest in Rock n Roll heaven, Pepe.

A new feature is added on Facebook, this time it helps users find love. Facebook Dating has been launched in 19 countries including the Philippines. Feeling unlucky with your old dating apps? This new feature might be the one to help you find your long time quest for romance.

It’s Easy to Access

Just to get things clear, Facebook Dating is not an app, it is within the FB app. This feature is only available on mobile, so you can search for love anytime, anywhere. The Dating icon can be found on bookmark tab in the upper right portion of your profile.

New Profile, Less Fraud

Although the Dating is within the FB app, you still have to create a separate profile. Creating one is quick and easy, just a several information input does it. One good thing about this feature is its prevention from making a dummy or fake account. It requires users to input their real name and age. In addition to ensure legitimacy, Dating requires location services.

Finding Your Match

When setting up your profile, there are preference settings, from age range, height, location, and religious views. Dating will suggest possible matches based on your activities and groups on Facebook, preferences and interests you’ve entered on your Dating profile.

It Has its Own Messenger

Going from Dating to messenger app is no longer your problem. You can directly message a person that interests you using its own Dating Messenger.

It is Private

Aside from having its own messenger, none of your friends on FB can know that you’re into the Dating feature. It also excluded getting matches from your FB friends, a little less thing to worry that you might unintentionally get matched with your relatives or your boss.

The Secret Crush Feature
